Gallie Craig

A small promontory on the southern coastline of the larger headland which forms the Mull of Galloway, Gallie Craig lies 4 miles (6 km) south of Drummore. It is popularly regarded as Scotland's most southerly point, although this honour most-likely belongs to Carrick-kee, a 350m (1150 feet) to the west. The isolated Gallie Craig Coffee House opened here in 2004 at the top of the cliffs. This unusual structure, with its turf roof, is intended to have minimal environmental impact. Fronted by glass and natural stone, its terrace overlooks the sea below.
