Lothian Burn

A stream which rises on the northeastern slopes of Caerketton Hill, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) south of the village of Swanston. The Lothian Burn flows northeast forming the boundary between Midlothian and the City of Edinburgh to receive the Swanston Burn close to the A720 Edinburgh Bypass. It then flows east for a further half-mile (1 km) to receive the Pentland Burn and become the Burdiehouse Burn, having completed a course of 1½ miles (2.5 km).
