Edinburgh Canal Centre

Located on the Union Canal at the Bridge Inn in Ratho, 8 miles (13 km) west of Edinburgh city centre, the Edinburgh Canal Centre provides a centre for canal holidays and cruising, together with a visitor centre. Opened in 1989, the centre also provides berths, services and supplies for narrow-boats. At the nearby canal basin, British Waterways provides interpretative displays.

Also based at the Canal Centre is the Seagull Trust founded in 1978 to provide free cruising for disabled people. The Trust now has additional centres at Falkirk, Kirkintilloch and Inverness.
