Colinton Mains Parish Church

A district of SW Edinburgh, Colinton Mains is a public housing estate lying between Colinton in the west and Oxgangs in the east, 4 miles (6.5 km) south southwest of the city centre. The area developed to the south of Colinton Mains farm in 1937 but, with the intervention of the Second World War, was not completed until the 1950s. The startling white-harled Colinton Mains Parish Church, with its square tower, gives the impression of being rather older than its date of 1954. Colinton Mains Park lies to the northeast.
