Redhall

A small residential district and former estate of SW Edinburgh, Redhall is centred on the A70 Lanark road, between Slateford and Kingsknowe, a half-mile (0.8 km) southeast of Longstone and 3 miles (5 km) southwest of the city centre. Between the A70 and the Water of Leith is the substantial Redhall Walled Garden (1756), which once served the estate but is now managed by the Scottish Association of Mental Health as a productive organic garden, while on the opposite bank of the river is Redhall House (1758).
