Annan Station

Located in the south of the town of Annan in Dumfries and Galloway, Annan Railway Station (Gael: Anainn) lies on the Glasgow South Western Line. It was opened in 1848 and was originally owned by Glasgow, Dumfries & Carlisle Railway. It is preceded by Gretna Green Railway Station, 8 miles (13 km) to the east, and followed by Dumfries, 15 miles (24 km) to the west northwest. Operated by ScotRail, Annan Railway Station is unstaffed and is used by 111,492 passengers per annum (2009-10).
