Edinburgh Police Centre, High Street

Located on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, the Police Centre comprises an information centre and small museum. Exhibits illustrate the history of the police force in Edinburgh, together with old and new policing methods and the darker history of the Royal Mile. Displays include information on some notorious criminals from Edinburgh's past, such as burglar Deacon William Brodie (1741-88) and the resurrectionists who turned to murder, William Burke (1792 - 1829) and William Hare (d. c.1860)

The centre is run by Lothian and Borders Police, and also provides a working police and information service.
