A summit of Dumfries and Galloway, Benbrack rises to 359m (1177 feet) 4½ miles (7 km) west of St. John's Town of Dalry. Its southern slopes are cloaked by the Galloway Forest and the Southern Upland Way passes less than a half-mile (1 km) to the west. Another Benbrack is located 4 miles (6.5 km) to the southeast.
