Almagill Hill

A hill with three summits in Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, Almagill Hill is located on the right bank of the River Annan 2¼ miles (3.5 km) northwest of Dalton and 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Lockerbie. The summits rise to 219m (718 feet), 217m (711 feet) and approximately 190m (623 feet), with the latter being occupied by the substantial Range Castle Iron-Age hill-fort, while the first is occupied by much smaller Moss Castle Fort. A substantial obelisk on the middle summit is known as Joe Graham's Monument. The Annandale Way passes over the summit.
