General's Well, The
Located in Bught Park, on the west bank of the River Ness close to the suspension bridge which leads to the Ness Islands, the General's Well is a water source which may have been associated with a General MacIntyre who lived at Bught House in the 19th century. A ladle is provided to take the waters and a plaque explains that this was the gift of Kenneth Mackenzie before he emigrated to the USA in 1872. The plaque itself was presented in 1956 by his son, Robert K. Mackenzie of Cleveland (Ohio).
