Glendyne Pass

A picturesque pass in the Lowther Hills, the Glendyne Pass descends to the west of Wanlockhead, a mile (1.5 km) north of the better known Mennock Pass. The Glendyne Burn descends to become a tributary of the Mennock Water, a half-mile (1 km) northeast of Mennock. Coal from Sanquhar was carried up a track here from the 1770s to fuel the furnaces of Wanlockhead.
