Kelso Health Centre

(Edenside Health Centre)

A delightful but understated modernist structure combining white render, glass and slate, the Kelso Health Centre (previously the Edenside Health Centre) is located on Inch Road, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) northeast of Kelso town centre. Built in 1967, designed by Peter Womersley and sensitively extended in 1980 by Aitken and Turnbull, the composition comprises round and square towers with rounded edges, their tops sliced at an angle, with narrow windows often rising to the roof-line.
