Lilliards Edge

A prominent ridge in the S Scottish Borders, Lilliards Edge lies 1½ miles (2.5 km) north northwest of Ancrum and 4½ miles (7 km) north northwest of Jedburgh. It rises to 195m (640 feet) at Gersit Law and is crossed by both the A68 Trunk Road and Dere Street. The highest point of Dere Street as it crosses the ridge is marked by Lilliard's Stone. The site of the Battle of Ancrum Moor (1545) lies on its southeastern slopes, as is Lilliardsedge Holiday Park, a caravan, camping and golf resort. There is a farm at Lilliardsedge to the north.
