Nikka Vord

A modest hill in the E of the Shetland island of Unst, Nikka Vord rises to 133m (436 feet) a mile (1.5 km) southwest of Haroldswick and 1¼ miles (2 km) north northeast of Baltasound. The hill includes an expanse of serpentine rock debris which is home to Edmondston's chickweed a plant which grows here and is the nearby Keen of Hamar National Nature Reserve and no-where else in the world. Chromite workings on the hill were associated with a processing plant at Hagdale.
