Friarton Hill

A summit located next to the M90 motorway, 1½ miles (2.5 km) south of Perth, Friarton Hill is much denuded by a substantial whinstone quarry. It once rose to 125m (412 feet) but now barely reaches 100m (328 feet) at the top of the cliffs which form the quarry walls. The Moncrieffe Railway Tunnel cuts beneath the eastern slopes of the hill, its route evidenced by three airshafts.
