A small river of NE Fife, the Kinness Burn rises on the northern slopes of Clatto Hill and flows east towards Strathkinness, and then onwards to St. Andrews, where it flows through the south of the town and then northeast into St. Andrews Harbour, having completed a course of 5¾ miles (9.25 km). Flood prevention measures costing £150,000 were undertaken along the urban section of the burn in 2011.
