A small island in Stornoway Harbour on the E coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Goat Island (Gael: Eilean na Gobhail or Eilean na Gobhair) is located a half-mile (0.8 km) south southeast of Stornoway town centre. In the late 1940s the island was connected to Battery Point by a causeway, partially enclosing Newton Basin. A jetty and slipway were built, and the island now supports industry in the form of marine engineering and fish-processing.
