Fintray Bay

A little bay with a sandy beach in the middle of the west coast of Great Cumbrae (North Ayrshire), Fintray Bay is located 1¼ miles (2 km) north northwest of Millport and affords fine views across the Firth of Clyde towards Bute. A tearoom was built here in 1908 to meet the demand from tourists and there was an associated lemonade factory (Kennedy's Aerated Waters). The factory is gone and the tearoom was replaced by a new one on the opposite side of the road in 1987.
