A mountain in the SW Grampians, Carn Dearg rises to a height of 941m (3086 feet) to the west of Loch Ericht and to the east of Loch Ossian on the border between Highland and Perth & Kinross Council Areas. With Sgor Gaibhre it forms a rounded massif with a number of open corries known to house some of the largest herds of red deer in Scotland. The name Carn Dearg is derived from the Gaelic for "red hill".
