Muldoanich
(Maol Domhnaich)

A small uninhabited island located towards the southern end of the chain of islands comprising the Outer Hebrides, Muldoanich (Gael: Maol Domhnaich or 'Sunday Isle') rises steeply from the Minch to 153m (501 feet). The island lies 2 miles (3 km) east of Vatersay and 3 miles (5 km) south southeast of Castlebay, providing a conspicuous landmark for the ferry approaching Barra. The island has an area of 78 ha (193 acres).
