One of the Braes of Angus, the Knock Hill rises to 283m (928 feet) 1¼ miles (2 km) northeast of Cortachy Castle and 1½ miles (2.6 km) northwest of Memus. Its northwestern slopes are cloaked in plantation forest, which extends northwards along the eastern slopes of Glen Moy.
