Powis

A small public housing scheme of N Aberdeen, Powis is located between Old Aberdeen and Kittybrewster, 1¼ miles (2 km) north northwest of the city centre. The scheme was laid out on the estate of Powis House in the 1930s as part of a slum-clearance scheme. The two-storey Powis House, which dates from 1802, now forms a community centre on Powis Circle. St Machar's Academy is located to the north, occupying the premises of the former Powis Academy.
