Stockinish Island
(Eilean Stocinis, Eilean Stocanais)

An uninhabited rock-trimmed island in the Outer Hebrides, Stockinish Island (Gael: Eilean Stocinis or Eilean Stocanais) lies at the entrance to Loch Stockinish on the southeast coast of South Harris, 6 miles (10 km) south of Tarbert. It rises to a height of 44m (144 feet). The sea floods into Loch an t-Saile in the centre of the island, which provides a sheltered location for a fish-farm.
