Loch Ascog

A small reservoir on the east coast of the Isle of Bute, Loch Ascog lies a half-mile (1 km) west of Ascog and 1¼ miles (2 km) southeast of Rothesay, which it supplies with drinking water. Retained by an earth embankment dam, it covers an area of 42.1 ha (104 acres). Operated by Scottish Water, it is fished for large pike and perch. The Ascog Burn descends to the northeast.
