Mill Loch

A smallest of the three lochs which lie close to Lochmaben in Dumfries and Galloway, the Mill Loch lies immediately to the northwest of the town and extends to 12.1 ha (30 acres). The vendace (Coregonus albula), a herring-like fish which is now extremely rare in Britain, once inhabited the loch but has not been recorded since 1970.
