White Loch

A small loch in the Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, the White Loch lies by the Auchness Moss, 3 miles (5 km) south of Whauphill. It extends to 4.9 ha (12 acres). Close by is Ravenstone Castle, a former stronghold of the Maclellans and later the Stewarts built c.1560. This loch should not be confused with the White Loch of Myrton, located only 2½ miles (4 km) to the west.
