A summit in Aberdeenshire, Carn Dearg rises to 594m (1948 feet) overlooking the River Dee, ¾ mile (1.3 km) north of Coilacriech and 1½ miles (2.5 km) west of Glen Gairn. Its southern slopes are cloaked in woodland.
