Hill of Rowan

A rounded heather-covered summit on the north side of Glen Esk in Angus, the Hill of Rowan rises to 380m (1246 feet) a mile (1.7 km) west of Tarfside. A path leads to its summit, which offers fine views along Glen Esk and is marked by the Maule Monument, a prominent conical memorial dating from 1866.
