(Suidhe Bhlain)

A summit in the S of the Isle of Bute, St. Blane's Hill (Gael: Suidhe Bhlain) rises to 123m (403 feet) at an Ordnance Survey triangulation point which lies a half-mile (1 km) north northwest of Garroch Head and 1½ miles (2.5 km) south southwest of Kilchattan Bay. The summit offers fine views south over the Sound of Bute and Arran. Geologically, the hill comprises a microgabbro sill of Palaeogene (Tertiary) age divided by a dyke of similar rock, all injected through Carboniferous lavas. St. Blane's Chapel is located a half-mile (0.8 km) to the north.
