One of a group of summits lying to the northwest of Sanquhar in N Dumfries and Galloway, Black Hill rises to 483m (1584 feet) to the northwest of Carco on the Crawick Water, 1¼ miles (2 km) east southeast of Cocker Hill and 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Kirkconnel.
