A rounded summit in the Atholl district of NW Perth & Kinross, Carn Dearg rises to 558m (1830 feet) 1¼ miles (2 km) west of Loch Con and 2 miles (3 km) east of the southern end of Loch Garry. There are other more significant Carn Deargs nearby; one reaching a height of 786m / 2578 feet 7 miles (13 km) to the west and another rising to approximately 800m / 2624 feet a similar distance to the south southeast.
