A southern spur of the elongated mountain Beinn nan Oighreag, located just within Stirling Council Area, Carn Shionnach has steep sides which rise to a height of around 770m (2526 feet) 3 miles (5 km) west of the northern limit of Lochan na Lairige and 5 miles (8 km) north northwest of Killin.
