Scaur Water

(Scar Water)

A river of Nithsdale in Dumfries and Galloway, the Scaur or Scar Water rises in hills to the southwest of Sanquhar. It flows east and southeast for more than 18 miles (29 km) past Penpont before entering the River Nith 2 miles (3 km) south of Thornhill.
