Allt Kinglass

(Allt Chonoghlais)

A significant tributary of the River Orchy in NE Argyll & Bute, the Allt Kinglass (Gael: Allt Chonoghlais) rises as headstreams at the head of Auch Gleann (Gleann Achadh-innis Chailein), 2 miles (3 km) northeast of Ben Douran. The river initially flows southwest, receiving several small streams from the steep slopes of the surrounding mountains, but turns northwest when it is joined by the Allt Coire Chailein at Auch. The lower reaches of the river lie between the A82 Trunk Road and the West Highland Railway. It falls into the Orchy a half-mile (1 km) south southwest of Bridge of Orchy, having completed a course of 6 miles (10 km).
