A river of Caithness district in Highland Council Area, the River Thurso rises in the foothills of Cnoc Cromuillt and flows eastward, then northeasterward before passing through Loch More and then turning in a northerly direction. Flowing seaward, it passes through the settlements of Gerston and Halkirk before emptying into Thurso Bay at Thurso.
