A river of the Lochaber district of SW Highland Council Area, the Water of Nevis lies in Glen Nevis. It rises in headstreams to the east of the Mamore Forest and flows west between the Nevis Range and the Mamores forming a 122-m (400-foot) deep gorge, with spectacular waterfalls. The Water of Nevis becomes the River Nevis at Achriabhach, turning north northwest towards Fort William.
