Ersock Loch

An artificial loch in SW Dumfries and Galloway, Ersock Loch was constructed in the late 19th C. on the course of the Physgill Burn, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) south southwest of Whithorn. It extends to an area of 1.6 ha (4 acres). High Ersock Loch, once located a quarter-mile (0.4 m) to the southeast, was drained about the same time.
