Mount Hill

A hill rising to 221m (681 feet) northwest of Cupar in NE Fife. On its summit is a 29m (95 feet) monument to Sir John Hope of Rankeilour, the 4th Earl of Hopetoun. The Mount on its eastern slopes was the birthplace of Sir David Lindsay who served at the courts of James IV and James V and wrote the famous satirical play Ane Pleasant Satyre of the Thrie Estaitis which was first performed in Cupar in 1535.
