The Ardstinchar Bridge and River Stinchar at Ballantrae

The River Stinchar rises on the northern slopes of Shalloch on Minnoch in Carrick in South Ayrshire. Flowing north then west, it passes through North Balloch and Glengennet before turning south and passing Barr, Penwherry and Colmonell. It enters the sea at Ballantrae Bay, a quarter-mile (0.4 km) south of Ballantrae. Its principal tributaries are the Water of Assel, the Duisk River and the Water of Tig.
