Potrail Water

(Portrail Water)

The Potrail Water (also often referred to as the Portrail Water) rises in the shadow of Ballencleuch Law in the Lowther Hills, South Lanarkshire, close to the border with Dumfries and Galloway. Flowing north and east it joins the Daer Water 2 miles (3 km) south of Elvanfoot. It is here that the River Clyde is formed.
