A glen separating the Ardgour district of the West Highlands from the Morvern peninsula, Glen Tarbert is 7 miles (11 km) in length and carries two rivers in opposite directions, both of which rise as headwaters on Garbh Bheinn which lies to the north of the valley. The River Tarbert flows east into Loch Linnhe at Inversanda, while the Carnoch River flows west into Loch Sunart.
