Glen Finglas

A valley in the Trossachs district of Stirling Council Area, Glen Finglas follows the course of the Finglas Water which flows 8 miles (13 km) south and southeast from Creagan nan Sgiath before joining the Black Water between Loch Achray and Loch Venachar a mile (1.5 km) to the west of Brig o' Turk. The Glen Finglas Reservoir, which is formed by the middle course of the river, also receives the Allt Gleann nam Meann and the Casaig Burn. The artist Sir John Everett Millais (1829-96) notably painted the critic John Ruskin (1819 - 1900) dramatically standing on the rocks overlooking the river here.
