Loch of Brough

A small, shallow and clear loch lying between two low hills in the centre of the island of Bressay in Shetland, the Loch of Brough is located 1¼ miles (2 km) east of Mail. It is around 500m (1700 feet) in length (from north to south) and 200m (650 feet) in breadth, with an area of 7.7 ha (19 acres) and a maximum depth of 1.2m (4 feet). The loch is connected to the Loch of Setter by the Burn of Brough. The loch represents the island's principal water supply but also provides recreational fishing. There is a pumping station to the north.
