Gott Bay

A sheltered anchorage on the southeast coast of the island of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, Gott Bay lies to the northeast of Scarinish. The broad sandy beach of Traigh Mhor borders the bay, which contains a number of rocks, while Soa and its associated island lie on the eastern side of its entrance. The ferry connecting Oban, Tiree and Coll docks at Scarinish pier within the bay. Other small settlements around Gott Bay include Gott, Kirkapol and Ruaig. Historical and archaeological evidence suggests the area around the bay once supported a much larger population.
