Auchencairn Bay

A bay on the Solway Firth coast of Dumfries and Galloway, Auchencairn Bay is the westernmost of a series of river-mouth inlets that include the Rough Firth and Orchardton Bay. The Torr peninsula separates Auchencairn Bay from Orchardton Bay and the village of Balcary overlooks the Bay. Heston Island lies at the mouth of the bay whose sands at low tide are traversed by the channel of a stream known as the Auchencairn Lane.
