Moidart, Loch

A sea-loch on the west coast of Moidart in the Lochaber district of Highland Council Area, Loch Moidart opens out to the south of the Sound of Arisaig. It is fed by the River Moidart which rises to the northeast and flows through Glen Moidart to meet the loch at the settlement of Kinlochmoidart. The island of Eilean Shona almost fills the mouth of the loch, dividing the widening body of water into North and South Channels.
