Ben Arthur

(The Cobbler)

A Corbett in Argyll and Bute, Ben Arthur rises to a height of 884m (2900 feet), 3 miles (5 km) west of Arrochar and 2 miles (3 km) northwest of the head of Loch Long. Also known as The Cobbler, although this name specifically relates to the central of three peaks on this mountain and is derived from its similarity to a cobbler bent over his work, when seen from Tarbert. The other peaks are Arthur's Seat and the North Peak. Ben Arthur overlooks Glen Croe to the south.
