The Clogg represents a narrow channel which connects the Bay of Tresness in the south to the Cata Sand in the north. It is located a mile (1.5 km) northwest of the headland of Tres Ness and a similar distance southeast of Overbister. Its entrance is defined between low-lying coastal rocks.
