Scapa Bay

A large sheltered bay of the southern coastline of the Orkney Mainland, Scapa Bay lies at the northeastern corner of Scapa Flow and has for many years provided a safe anchorage for ships. Extending inland, the head of the bay lies less than 2 miles (3 km) from the Bay of Kirkwall on Orkney Mainland's eastern coastline. Landing facilities are provided by a pier on the bay's eastern shoreline.
