Harold's Wick

A substantial sheltered inlet on the E coast of the island of Unst in the Shetlands, Harold's Wick lies between Nor Wick and Balta Sound and has the settlement of Haroldswick at its head. Cliffs rise from the sea to the north and south. The name derived from King Harald of Norway who landed here in 875 in support of his claim to Shetland.
